the areas are ministerial within the Church, others are ways that
we act on the Gospel and reach out to the broader community, while

Charismatic Prayer Group

The Saint Vincent de Paul Hispanic Charismatic Prayer Group consists of a reunion of Christians congregated to give praise, glory, thanks and honor to our Lord Jesus Christ. We meet in an atmosphere of love and support for one another in an effort to grow in the knowledge and love of God, and to develop a personal relation with Jesus Christ through the presence and power of the Holy Spirit. Our meeting is characterized by expressive, joyful praise, singing as a way of praying, and openness to the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Each prayer meeting is open to anyone who wants to come and it takes place every Saturday starting at 6:00PM with the Spanish Holy Mass.

These members are available to answer questions about the parish, provide assistance in locating programs and activities offered at SVdP. They also provide personal phone calls to new parishioners, for the first year, inviting them to parish socials and activities. |

The lector proclaims the Word of God during the Liturgy of the Word, an ancient tradition of the Church. Two lectors are required for each Sunday Mass, at seasonal liturgies such as Christmas and Easter, and other special liturgies throughout the year. Anyone above the age of sixteen who is willing to rehearse and prepare for the readings ahead of time is invited to attend a training session to serve as a lector. |

Natural Family Planning (NFP) is a method of family planning that is scientific, highly effective and is approved by the Catholic Church. NFP helps to identify natural body signs related to fertility. Classes are offered through the Archdiocese of Atlanta and are taught by certified instructors. |

A nursery is provided during both the 8:00 AM and the 10:30 AM Sunday Liturgy, for children ages four or younger. The nursery coordinator, as well as parish volunteers, provide this service to our community. Parents with small children are encouraged to use this facility. |

council, in the spirit of consensus decision-making, aids the Pastor
in the administration of the spiritual and temporal matters of the
parish community. The members evaluate the effectiveness and impact
of each organization and activity. They recommend and set priorities
and policies for the parish. Furthermore, they serve as the chief
unifying structure of the community, constantly drawing forth the
talents, energies, and insights of all members of the parish and thus
channel this "variety of gifts" toward the building up of "the body of Christ" . |

The group aims to promote awareness of pro-life issues and to help keep you up to date on everything related to pro-life issues. |

The Education Director contacts individuals and groups to arrange for seminars, workshops and presentations based on the needs and interests of the faculty of the Religious Education program. This person becomes acquainted with the content of resource materials available for all the grade levels.
Catechists Individuals who are interested in sharing the Gospel message with our young people and who are seeking to enrich their own spirituality by participating in a certification program are encouraged to volunteer for this position. Numerous catechists are needed for the various grade levels as well as sacrament prepration programs.
- Elementary Level - This program includes the 3 and 4-year-old pre-K program through the 5th grade level.
- First Penance/First Eucharist - The catechist for this program prepares 2nd graders to receive these sacraments.
- RCIC - This program prepares those children who did not receive the sacrament of First Penance and First Eucharist at the traditional age. These classes are broken up by age group.

Ministers are asked to arrive forty-five (45) minutes prior to Holy Mass and are responsible for preparing the vessels and gifts at the credence and gifts table as well as performing other duties prior to our Eucharistic celebration. This ministry also invites parishioners to present the gifts during the offertory. Training is provided. |

Junior High School Level (The Edge)
This program is for 6th, 7th and 8th graders.
High School Level (LifeTeen)
High School classes follow a topical outline applying Gospel values to current life situations. They meet on Sunday evenings. Individuals who are willing to work with this age group are needed to chaperone trips, assist with meals, (cooking and/or serving), etc. and to help with the Youth Program. The Youth Program includes a Youth Mass every Sunday at 5:00 p.m., followed by a simple meal and a Life Night for High School students.

Youth Activities People are needed who are willing to help plan, transport and assist with fund raising or chaperone social outings and lock-ins for our youth. All volunteers must be Safe Environment trained. This process takes about an hour and half of your time and is necessary for the safety of all parishioners most especially our children. Training sessions are conducted as needed. Please see the youth minister for more information.
