ST. VINCENT de PAUL WOMEN’S ALTAR ROSARY GUILD

The Mar 15, 2010 meeting began with the praying of the rosary in the Social Hall @ 6:15 pm, followed by prayers for everyone’s special intentions,

and a lovely meal. We began with the Guild prayer.

The minutes of the previous meeting were e-mailed to everyone, and approved as sent.

Kathi Ryan gave the treasurer’s report.

The Guild received a Thank-You card from Deacon Tom Zahuta for his Christmas gift.

Mary Stumm thanked everyone who assisted with the Simple Supper, and those who have volunteered to assist with the New Building

fund-raising. Sign-up sheets for April and May were circulated. The Guild is still planning to purchase a tile for the new building.

The Guild voted to accept the By-Laws that were presented at the last meeting. They will take effect with the installation of the new officers in August 2010.

A sheet was circulated for more volunteers for the RCIA reception on Holy Saturday. We will serve cake, punch, and nuts.

Members also volunteered for both First Communion receptions, which will be at the 4:00 pm Holy Mass on April 24^th and May 1^st. We will serve cake,

punch, and nuts. Email reminders will be sent.

Pat Hesse volunteered to chair this year’s Christmas Market, along with Becky Meany-Mitek. It will be held Nov. 12^th & 13^th in our new hall.

Meetings will be held on an as-needed basis.

Joyce Fowler reported that fund-raising for the new building is progressing well. The date of the Silent Auction has changed to Oct. 10^th.

Jo Anne Burch reported that UPLIFT is working on securing more funding, and will focus on being mentors for our youth leaders.

Mary Speeney reported that she will be ordering First Communion items for Angels’ Closet, which can be bought by parents.

Jo Anne Burch is now co-chairperson of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, along with Joyce Fowler.

Nominations for new Guild officers were submitted. Once approved by Fr. Adrian, we will vote at the April 19^th meeting.

Dues were collected.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:30 pm, and we had a very informative presentation on Breast Cancer Awareness by Dr. Michelle Ross.

UPCOMING RECEPTIONS:

First Communion - April 24^th and May 1^st both during the 4:00 pm Holy Masses.

Ordination Reception for Deacon Mario on June 27^th.
