The Feb 22, 2010 meeting began with the praying of the rosary in the Social Hall @ 6:30 pm, followed by prayers for everyone’s special intentions,

and a lovely meal.

We began the meeting with the praying of the Guild prayer.

The minutes of the previous meeting were e-mailed to everyone, and approved as sent. Many thanks to Kathi Ryan for taking the January minutes.

Kathi Ryan gave the treasurer’s report.  She also stated that the dues collected at each meeting will be saved until there is enough to purchase a $100.00

ticket for the $10,000.00 raffle.  If the Guild wins we will split the prize with the church.

The Guild received Thank-You cards from Marylou Bishop, Due Serafin, Deacon Jim, and Our Lady of Perpetual Help.

Mary Stumm thanked everyone who provided a dish, shopped for food, and/or served the funeral brunch for the family of Duane Langley.

She also thanked all who assisted with the Confirmation Reception on January 31, 2010.

Joyce Fowler reported that 118 tickets were sold for the Fish Fry on Ash Wednesday.  She also thanked all who have  volunteered to help

with the on-going fund-raising for the new building.  A sign-up sheet for March was circulated. Betty Blanchette  moved that the Guild purchase a

TILE ($100.00) for the new building, in honor of the deceased members of the Guild. Marylou Bishop seconded, and the members approved.

The March 5th Simple Supper will be hosted by the Guild.  We will serve grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup. Based on last years’

attendance, we will provide for 60 people.  Those volunteering should be at the Social Hall by 5:00 pm, in order to serve by 6:15 pm. An email

reminder will be sent.

Mary Stumm reminded everyone that nominations for new officers need to be presented at the March meeting.  After approval by Fr. Adrian,

we will vote on new officers at the April meeting.  Installation will be in August 2010.

The By-Laws committee (Kathy Kiefer, Pat Hesse, Marylou Bishop) has completed formulating by-laws for the Guild, and they have

been approved by Fr. Adrian.  All members present received a copy for review.  We will vote on whether or not to accept the by-laws, as written,

at the March meeting.  Extra copies of the by-laws will be in the Guild mailbox.  Everyone is encouraged to review the entire document and be

present at the March meeting, so that your vote can be counted!!

The March meeting will feature a presentation on Breast Cancer Awareness by Dr. Michelle Ross.  All parishioners are invited to attend.

In anticipation of a larger crowd, we need another volunteer to provide the main dish, along with Carmen Amodio, as well as another volunteer to

provide a side dish along with Sue Serafin. We will pray the Rosary @ 6:15pm so that Dr. Ross can start on time.  Bulletin & Ambo announcements

will be requested.

March 6th is Deacon Mario’s birthday.  Monitta moved that we assist him with  renewing his visa, rather than give a reception.  Dottie second,

and the members approved.  We will give him $100.00, and have a card & cake just for him.  Chris Keeley will get the cake, and Monitta Bottomlee

will get the card.

A sign-up sheet for volunteers for the RCIA reception was circulated.  There will be 20 candidates, so we will need 2 cakes along with punch, nuts

and mints for 75 people.  Pat Hesse will get the cakes from Cosco.  Marsha Rauscher will make the red crosses for both cakes.

The members decided that we needed to get more tablecloths & punch bowls for future receptions.  Since Marguerite Avery purchased 3 white

tablecloths for Confirmation,  Kathy Kiefer moved that we purchase 7 more tablecloths and the 2 acrylic punch bowls that were  recommended by Margo.

It was second,  and the members approved.  Lucille Hoffman has volunteered to maintain the tablecloths for now.  The new Reception Committee will

be responsible for the tablecloths & punch bowls in the future.  Carmen Amodio moved that Marguerite Avery be reimbursed for purchasing the tablecloths;

It was second, and the members approved.
