What will I give back to God in Thanksgiving for the many blessings I have received. ~~ Psalm 116:12
Father would like us to direct all of our attention to helping to raise money for the new Religious Education Building. The more money we can have in the bank, the less amount of money will need to borrow. Please consider making a pledge!
Our Lady of Guadalupe Hall Building Guild
Who are we??
The Our Lady of Guadalupe Hall Building Guild is made up of St. Vincent de Paul parishioners who want to help our pastor raise funds for our new Religious Education Building, Our Lady of Guadalupe Hall.Over the course of the year, we plan to engage the parish in fun money making projects. All of the projects are open to all parishioners and their friends, families and co-workers -- to the entire Paulding County area. We are very proud of our parish! We have an group of talented parishioners who just the need the opportunity to step forward and share their time and talents.
All of the money from these campaigns will go directly into the Our Lady of Guadalupe Hall Building Fund. And, some of our projects will have the money targeted for an clearly defined objective - such as, the Sacrificial Giving campaign's first goal is $10,500 to pay for the new building floors. Father Adrian, ever the diligent caretaker of our funds, has secured a commitment to finish the floors at an exceptional price. Another goal is the elevator in the new building. We want to make the entire building accessible to ALL of our parishioners.
Some of the exciting events we have this year include:
Sacrificial Giving
Sacrificial Giving ... it doesn’t buy anything. It won't buy happiness, love or give a tenfold return on your investment. The motive for giving a sacrificial gift is that you are not expecting to get something back. The way in which we give our sacrifical gift is as important as the gift itself. A sacrificial gift has no strings. When we give a sacrifical gift, it is to be given as freely as the many gifts that God has given to us. The motive for the giving is grateful response rather than expecting something in return.
How it works: What could you “give up” to help YOUR church? A lunch once a week, movies once a month, that dinner out or pizza for the family on Friday nights, how about that Coffee and Donut on the way to work one day this week? Then take the amount of money you would have spent and give it up to the Our Lady of Guadalupe Hall Building fund! It doesn’t have to be hundreds of dollars, it could be the cost of a movie—$7.50 or lunch at McDonalds—$6. Just drop it in the Sacrificial Giving envelope, indicate what you “gave up” and place it in the Sacrificial Giving Basket after Holy Mass. Then watch the bulletin. Your gift (what you gave up) will be listed!! Be creative - get the children involved - and remember it is OUR CHURCH! OUR TALENTS! OUR FUTURE!
OUR Change for OUR Lady of Guadalupe Hall
Have you seen our JUGS in the Narthex!! It is there to collect all that annoying change in your pocket! Drop your spare change in the Jug and help build Our Lady of Guadalupe Hall! Remember anything you drop into the jug helps - no amount is too little or too large!
Memorial Bricks and Benches
Engraved bricks, tiles and benches will be offered to parishioners, families, friends and parish ministries.
Bricks will start at $35 each and can be ordered from the website (will be available mid-February), mail in brick order form, by
email, at one of the Parish Events, or from a Building Guild member.
If you would like to purchase a brick as a memorial to a loved one, please be sure to request a "donor certificate" on your order form. If you would like a replica of the memorial brick, one can be created (with felt backing) for an additional $25, please see a Building Guild member for additional information.
Additionally, we will be offering parishioners and parish groups the opportunity to have a bench placed in the new garden area. If you are interested in having a memorial bench for a loved one or would like additional information on the benches, please contact
the Bricks & Benches Coordinator.

The garden-greenspace area will be a beautiful addition to our Parish. The garden-greenspace layout is still being developed, please check back later for a layout of the garden-greenspace and options for placement of bricks and benches.
Holiday Ball
A night of fun that all will enjoy. In addition, guests will have the opportunity to participate in our Silent Auction.
Plans are still in the works for this event, so please check back later for more information.
Reverse Raffle
How would you like to be the lucky winner of $10,000? We will be holding three (3) Reverse Raffles during 2010.
How it works: Unlike regular raffles where the 1st ticket drawn wins, in a Reverse Raffle, the LAST ticket drawn is the $10,000 winner. But, the drawings have some fun options:
The 1st, 50th and 75th ticket drawn from the raffle barrel will be given the option of a $50 prize or putting their ticket back in for another chance at the $10,000.
The 100th and 150th ticket are given the option of a $100 prize or to throw their ticket back in for a chance at the $10,000.
The 250th ticket pulled is offered $200 or to throw the ticket back.
The final three tickets are drawn and these three ticket holders are given the option of dividing the $10,000 between themselves OR putting the tickets back . All 3 ticket holders MUST agree. If the 3 tickets are put back in, then 2 of the tickets are drawn and the last ticket pulled wins the $10,000.
Wouldn't you like to win the $10,000? Donation for the Reverse Raffle ticket is $100 each. Contact us for more information.
Rocking Chair Club
Imagine—not having to volunteer for ANYTHING. NOTHING. NADA. For as little as $200 a year, too!
Joining the Rocking Chair Club provides parishioners one-year memberships that exempts them from baking cookies, selling tickets, cleaning up or setting up for a Building Guild event.
No phone calls say “we really need your help” ~ you have made your “donation” to the year’s fundraising activities!
Of course, you can still participate in any of the events and activities—who knows, you could be one of the winners of the $10,000 Reverse Raffles or find a new, favorite wine at the Holiday Ball/Wine and Cheese Tasting.
And, the Building Guild is offering a limited number of three year Rocking Chair Club membership for the discounted price of $500. Three years — good deal!
We would like to thank Brumby Chair Company of Marietta for the donation of the beautiful Lady Rocker for this campaign. Please stop by Father's office to see this beautiful piece of furniture.
