The Apr. 19, 2010 meeting began with the praying of the
rosary in the Social Hall @ 6:30 pm, followed by prayers for everyone’s special
intentions,
and a lovely meal. We
began with the Guild prayer.
The minutes of the previous meeting were e-mailed to
everyone, and approved as sent.
Kathi Ryan gave the treasurer’s report.
Mary Stumm thanked everyone who
assisted with the RCIA reception.
Mary also reminded us of the First Communion receptions,
which will be after the 4:00 pm Holy Mass on April 24th and May 1st. Margo Hagan
will be the chairperson for the April 24th reception, and
Marylou Bishop will be chairperson for May 1st. We will serve cake, punch, and nuts.
Email reminders will be sent.
Marguerite Avery will search for ceramic crosses which will be used as
cake decorations for future receptions.
The Guild received a letter from the AACCW, requesting our $250.00
dues. The next District meeting will be
April 24, 2010, at The Church of the
Transfiguration, at 9:30 am.
The cost is $10.00/person. This year’s AACCW convention will be held
Sept.10th-12th. We voted and agreed to
pay
the fees & lodging for one person to attend. Anyone else who wishes to attend must pay
their own fees & lodging.
In honor of Deacon Mario’s ordination on June 26th, we
voted to give him $300.00 cash. We will
host the reception in his honor on June 27th.
There will be more information, and volunteer assignments will be
made at a later date. Marylou Bishop
will get the card and give him the check.
The Guild will attend Holy Mass as a group on May 15th
at the 4:00 pm Holy Mass, and on May 16th at the 10:30 am Holy Mass.
Mary Speeney reported that she sold over
$178.00 of items for First Communion, through Angels’ Closet.
Jo Anne Burch reported that The St. Vincent de Paul Society
attended a very rewarding seminar, that rejuvinated
the group in preparation for their
Really Big Yard Sale to be held May 14th from 8am-5pm,
and May 15th from 8am-12 noon.
Items can be dropped off in the Social Hall from
May 1st through May 12th. SNEAK-A-PEEK for parishioners only, will be
held May 13th.
Our parish picnic will be Sunday, May 23rd, at White
Oak Park. Tickets are $7.00 for those 5
yrs old & up. Children 4 yrs. old
and younger are free.
Volunteers to sell tickets after all Holy Masses will be
needed. Please see Debbie Rogers to help
out.
We will again celebrate Fr. Adrian’s birthday (May 25th)
during this year’s picnic. In
celebration the Guild voted to give the same monetary amount as last year.
New Guild officers were elected.
They are: President - Marylou Bishop, Vice President - Pat Hesse, Treasurer - Kathi Ryan, Recording
Secretary - Kathy Kiefer.
The office of Corresponding Secretary will be filled at a later
date.
Our May 17th dinner-meeting will be at O’Charley’s in Hiram at.
Marylou Bishop will make the reservation.
Dues were
collected.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:44 pm.
